What Horses Helping People do..
Horses Helping People is a therapeutic horsemanship centre. The centre benefits a wide range of adults and children, including those with behavioral challenges, mental health problems, learning difficulties and people with disadvantaged backgrounds. The centre gives the children and adults a chance to spend some time out in the countryside with the horses. The focus is on building a trusting partnership between horse and human. The charity helps to improve mental and physical well-being and social skills. It is also beneficial for anyone looking for a new way to improve confidence and self-awareness, or for a relaxing break from routine.
Filming a video to promote a charity
In December we had the pleasure of filming a video with Dave and Debbie, the owners of Horses Helping People at Sunrise farm near Mentmore in Buckinghamshire. We are working with Buckinghamshire Community Foundation – otherwise known as Heart of Bucks – and it’s a marvellous opportunity to get up close and personal with the projects they support throughout Bucks. This is one of many great projects we have been working on that will feature in the promotional video we are making to raise their visibility. We had the chance to gain a better insight into what therapeutic horsemanship is and how significant it is to the children and adults that attend. It’s refreshing to see such enthusiasm towards helping people who can’t help themselves. We were delighted to be able to meet and film such lovely people and have them share their journey with us.
Heart Of Bucks helps fund facilities for Horses Helping People through a number of grants it makes – you can find out more about their work here.
