1) Stop inputting characters well before you reach the 140 limit
This reduces the chances of words being lost when a person hits the Retweet button. Remember the RT will include your username, which naturally adds characters.
2) If you don’t want to do Step 1, make the Tweet easily editable
So, for example, if you’re including a link to a post or website, construct your Tweet as follows:
Compelling intro
Link
Neat – but choppable – last phrase
